Jody is one hot mama! She burnt the dance floor with this hit.
This is my favorite track from her debut solo album, Jody Watley. I still remember her hot video where she got a hot tattoo on her leg.
"Looking for a New Love" became one of the biggest pop and R&B singles of 1987. While listening to a tape of instrumental tracks given to her by producer André Cymone, Watley reflected on a recent sour romantic breakup. Fusing her own feelings with the feel of the track, Watley came up with the basic premise of "Looking for a New Love."
This is how you can turn something bad into something positive. What a brilliant empowering "break-up" song, don't you think?
She even popularized the phrase "Hasta la Vista, baby" long long before Arnie did in the Terminator movie.
Lyrics Gave you love You did me wrong Didn’t know what to do But baby I’m strong Gonna get over you A new boy I’m gonna choose (You’ll see)
My love was true Still you threw it all away Now other guys will have me They’ll appreciate my love Tell me how does it feel
You know that I needed you You know that you meant the world to me You know I had to have you Now I’m gonna find somebody new
I’m looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah
Was she hot? Did she turn you on? Curiosity rules my brain Was she worth my heart? It’s torn all apart Are you going back again?
My love was true Still you threw it all away But now you’re like the rest Unworthy of my best Hasta la vista, baby
You know that I needed you You know that you meant the world to me You know I had to have you Now I’m gonna find somebody new
I’m looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah
Welcome to my music vault. Here you will find my favourite songs from the yesteryears. My intention of putting up this blog is to pay tributes to the entertainers who were there for me - especially during my ups and downs, throughout my carrot-cut-jeans-wearing high school years and those tea-dancing college years. Heheh! Seems like just yesterday....
I have a collection of 80’s & 90’s music on original CDs - little gems that I dug out from the bottom of the bargain bins. Hours spent from rummaging through the used CDs in 2nd hand shops and SPCA jumble sale are sometime worth it.
Some CDs were purchased during my trip to Japan a few years back. You will be amazed at the "retro" stuff that you can find in Japan! Of course having friends with the same music taste for swapping helps to add increase my collection.
I can safely say that none of the track posted here are available in Malaysia now. You can't buy them anymore! So, this will not affect albums sale. (OK..They were probably not released in Malaysia at the first place. LOL). Mostly are extended versions and remixed stuff.
My own thoughts and comments about the songs are written in the comment tab to keep the blog uncluttered. Please leave yours too.
I hope you enjoy this blog. Please drop bouquets and brickbats to runwitme@gmail.com
Please share with me if you have the REMIX or EXTENDED non-album versions of following songs (preferably in high quality). Thank You!
01. (You're My One And Only) True Love - Seduction 02. Could This Be Love – Seduction 03. Two To Make It Right - Seduction 04. High Time – Nia Peeple 05. Gotta Tell You (Milk & Sugar Club Mix) - Samantha Mumba (7:56) 06. Sandy Lam remixes.

Lyrics
Gave you love
You did me wrong
Didn’t know what to do
But baby I’m strong
Gonna get over you
A new boy I’m gonna choose (You’ll see)
My love was true
Still you threw it all away
Now other guys will have me
They’ll appreciate my love
Tell me how does it feel
You know that I needed you
You know that you meant the world to me
You know I had to have you
Now I’m gonna find somebody new
I’m looking for a new love, baby
A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah
I’m looking for a new love, baby
A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah
Was she hot?
Did she turn you on?
Curiosity rules my brain
Was she worth my heart?
It’s torn all apart
Are you going back again?
My love was true
Still you threw it all away
But now you’re like the rest
Unworthy of my best
Hasta la vista, baby
You know that I needed you
You know that you meant the world to me
You know I had to have you
Now I’m gonna find somebody new
I’m looking for a new love, baby
A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah
I’m looking for a new love, baby
A new love, yeah, yeah, yeah
